About Colette

Colette how did you get into doing what you do?

The first time I helped others feel better was when I was twelve.
At that age, I
was already practicing visualizations and relaxation exercises almost daily, whenever I was
tired. So when I was on a train trip from Strasbourg (France) to Venice (Italy) with my
classmates, who were having a hard time falling asleep, I led them one by one through a
visualization I had created to relax them and put them to sleep. Soon after that I began
reading all the books on psychoanalysis I could find at home.

When I was 20 I began my personal development journey. I moved a lot (Paris,
Grenoble, Limoges, New York, Chicago, Houston), and learned a lot in each place. As far as
I can remember, I have always looked for emotional healing techniques that are new,
natural, and effective.

In New York, I worked as a massage therapist with a psychotherapist who
referred survivors of sexual abuse to me.
This is when I decided to become a
psychotherapist myself so that I could provide a body/mind healing approach to my clients.

After living in Paris, I returned to Chicago and began studying to become a
psychotherapist.
I completed my studies at the University of Houston in Social Work and
graduated with a Masters Degree with a concentration in family therapy. I was proud to
graduate with the highest honors and became a member of Alpha Chi since I did all my
studies in a second language.

Why did you choose to move from France to the US?

My passion for cutting edge therapies is really at the core of it. It is here in the
US that many of these marvelous techniques are developed.
I want to be at the
heart of it and not have to wait ten years before it reaches the other side of the Atlantic.

What is your passion?

My greatest passion is to find or develop easier, simpler, totally natural, and
more and more effective techniques to help people heal emotional wounds.
I
really love it when I find one of these treasures. It makes me feel in awe and makes me
appreciate life even more. I get so excited about the incredible beauty and magic of life.

Where does this passion come from?

To tell you the truth, my mother was depressed and I guess I wanted her to
know that life is good and that there is a way out.
I truly believe that life is exciting,
that there is still plenty to discover, and that we are powerful beyond our imagination.

What are your values?

I value the effectiveness of techniques, and the ability to heal from within
using our inner healing powers.
I also value the gentleness of the healing. I do not
believe that healing emotional wounds has to be painful.

I also value
learning and growing to realize one’s own potential. And of course, I value
happiness and peace of mind.

Finally, I value
research and development of new holistic approaches to help people
with difficult and chronic issues that do not have solutions in the traditional healing system.

What keeps you going?

I like challenges.
With human beings I am always challenged and am not in danger of
ever being bored. There is always so much to learn.

What have you been the most proud of?

I have been the most proud of my clients’ healing in such a short amount of
time.
I have so many wonderful testimonials. What truly excites me and makes me so
eager to do what I do is that I experience these “miracles” on a weekly basis.

What is your philosophy with clients?

I have a simple philosophy when I work with clients. I want to help them heal
as fast as possible.
This is what makes my clients the happiest and me the happiest.
Furthermore, it is also the best way I believe to develop a successful practice based on
referrals. So it is a win/win situation.
