How is it to work with me?

On this page I will present to you my main values and what you can expect
from our work together.
I first take a general approach and then give more details for
women with emotional eating and those who come mainly to find relief from emotional
stress, depression, and anxiety. If you are interested in personal growth see description

If you are still stuck after trying every traditional and alternative approach
possible
(medication, counseling, acupuncture, diets, etc…) you can expect to finally
progress on your issue.  

To help you progress I take a very different approach than any other
therapist.
I do NOT diagnose (giving your body/mind a label and put you in  a box), on
the contrary, I listen to your body. I do that by simply establishing a communication
system (biofeedback mechanism) with your innate wisdom and simply ask what your
body needs to heal faster. I am
guided to find your unique healing recipe,
instead of imposing a run of the mill solution.

If you want to be involved and empowered in your healing process, you will
learn how to do some exercises between sessions so that the treatment can progress
much faster.

If you are tired of the long, old, and painful therapies with little results, and
you are ready for newer therapies that are more effective,
you can expect me to
bring the latest discoveries in the field of energy psychology into the sessions. My only
goal is effectiveness of treatment. To do so, I am on the constant look out for the best in
the field and invest a large percentage of my income in training every year.

If you want to be able to understand what I do in the sessions,
you can expect me to
take the time necessary to explain what I am doing and answer all your
questions.

If you want to have time to talk and be listened to, you can expect me to listen and
be present with you. On the first session I spend an hour listening to you
and learning about you and your family history.

A unique approach:

If we compare your body/mind/spirit to an iceberg, the amount of information
available to traditional therapists is only the tip of the iceberg.
There is a huge
amount of information not accessible to the conscious mind and even to the various
medical tests available today. This is why it is important to be able to listen to your
innate wisdom (subconscious) to access what is hidden and necessary for your healing.


How is it to work with me when you have emotional eating issues?

If you have always forced your body into a diet to lose weight, you can expect to stop
dieting. The goal is for you to naturally begin to chose different food.

Client story: Mark came to our intensive workshop series (4 Saturday
afternoons over two months)
because his doctor told him to lose weight. He was
very skeptical at first but still stayed open to the new approach. On the third session, he
told the group that he was naturally beginning to make the “right’ choices. He was
surprised to see himself choose the lean ham over of the greasy bacon; he was now
leaving chips in the bowl at the restaurant; he didn’t feel like he had to finish his plate
anymore; he was serving himself smaller portions knowing that he could get more if he
needed; he was eating much slower and feeling when his body was full,
…without
dieting, Mark announced nonchalantly that he had lost 30 pounds in two
months! He is still surprised at how “naturally” the changes happened.

I you have tried will power to comply with exercise programs,
you can expect
to dissolve your resistance to exercise
and feel more excited about exercise.
Ex: Jean could not stand working out. After using EFT for weight loss in individual
sessions with me, she is now working out regularly and has been for several months.
After 6 months
She has lost more than 20 pounds and still losing.  

If you have uncontrollable cravings, you can expect to learn a technique that
will reduce dramatically your cravings.
Cravings are energy disturbances and
can be usually easily eliminated with energy therapies.

Client story:
Malissa had been eating 1 to 2 bags of tortilla chips per day for a
years.
She felt desperate to stop this behavior. During the first group session she
treated her specific craving by following along with the group a simple step-by-step
technique. The following week Malissa didn’t even mention the chips.
She realized
later that she had totally forgotten about them!
She had even forgotten to tell us
that it was not an issue in her life anymore! She had gone to a Mexican restaurant and
had eaten only a few chips and left the rest in the bowl, she said to us on the third
session.

If you cannot lose weight and you are doing everything right, you may have some food
“allergies”.
You can expect to find out if you are sensitive to some food, and
learn to treat yourself for these food sensitivities
(our goal is not to spend hours
treating you for food sensitivities, we teach you how you can do it yourself).

Client story:
Mary was allergic to sugar and this increased her desire for
alcohol.
When Mary treated her allergy to sugar, as well as the different alcohols she
liked, and
naturally her desire for alcohol diminished and even totally stopped
within two weeks.

If you are an emotional eater, you eat when you feel lonely, stressed, tired, sad, angry,
to stuff your feelings down,
you can expect to deal with your feelings in a
healthier way.
You can expect eating to become more neutral, not as charged.

Client story:
Jane had always been an emotional eater. She came to the workshop
to release the emotional charge she had around food. On the third group session, Jane
related to the group how she was looking for something to eat in the fridge one evening
and
nothing was “talking’ to her anymore. It felt so strange. At that point she was
desperately trying to find something that would “do it” for her. …nothing did. She then
realized that all she wanted was to stuff some feelings.
She got in touch with her
feelings and dealt with them in a healthier way.


My approach and values about Emotional Eating

Forcing you to control your calories through strict diet and exercise program
is not an option:
The amount of food you eat is not the cause of your weight issue: it is  merely a
symptom. We will look for the real causes (may be multiple) treating the negative beliefs
and emotions at the root of the issue (ex: feeling deprived). I  also consider other very
common causes such as food allergies, energy toxins, family habits, environmental
triggers, traumatic experiences, daily stress, hormonal imbalances, uncontrollable
cravings, etc… that are often part of the problem and are not often  considered or
treated.

Offering a band-aid, quick fix approach, is not an option.
My goal is permanent results. If you are already following a sensible balanced diet, I will
help you stick to it by reducing the cravings. However, my goal is for your body/mind to
learn to naturally choose the best food for you without involving too much emotions.
When you become aware of how your body feels when it is full and develop a healthy
strategy to choose your food, you will be able to gently and naturally lose weight (unless
the cause of you weight gain is not overeating but a medical condition that makes it more
difficult to lose weight).

Using long and emotional talk therapy is not an option:
We use more effective, user friendly, non-emotive energy therapies (Emotional Freedom
Techniques, BodyTalk, ZPoint, Quantum Techniques). Unlike talk therapy, we rapidly
dissolve negative emotions and thoughts without you having to retell the same story
over and over again. Once a thought or emotion is treated, it usually doesn’t have to be
treated again, saving you a lot of time, pain, and money.


My unique approach of Emotional Eating

My expertise in a number of different cutting edge, energy psychology
techniques, as well as my training in traditional psychotherapy makes my
work with client very unique and effective.
I bring into the treatment a
combination of new energy techniques that will reduce dramatically your emotional eating
and therefore accelerate your weight loss.

My unique goal is to help you get naturally more in control over your eating habits in a
permanent way so that you can naturally reach your weight goal without dieting and
feeling deprived.

If you are already in therapy or doing some group work, my energy therapy approach will
complement and accelerate your progress.

I like to work on challenging issues. I believe that there is a solution to every
problem as long as we do not give up.  

I believe that judging is unhelpful and even hurtful. I put no pressure on you to
“control” your cravings, or make you feel like you have “failed” if you have not (like some
group therapies and support group might). I consider actions and behaviors to be gifts.
They are doors to your subconscious mind and will actually help you find out what need
to be addressed.

I empower you. I teach you the tools so you can help yourself! You will learn the
simple tools you need to find and treat your own blocks to your weight loss. I have made
my unique step-by-step approach available to you in a manual and workbook. However, I
am also available via private telephone sessions.

How is it to work with me when you are suffering from stress and anxiety?

If you have been labeled and offered the same treatment than anyone else on the
planet with a “similar” condition
you can expect an approach tailored to your
body/mind needs.

In a BodyTalk session I uncover your unique healing formula
by asking
your body what it needs—instead of telling the body what it has and giving it a label. I
listen to your body’s own expertise –the innate wisdom- to find the treatment sequence
ideal for your healing.

If nothing has helped you, yet, you can expect to finally uncover and
dissolve hidden issues that were blocking your healing.
Using the unique
BodyTalk protocole, I am able to find specific events and memories that you may not
remember. I will also address relationship issues, family history, meridians, organs,
lymphatic system…, endocrines, emotions…in more than 17 different aspects of health.
Balancing your body/mind on these issues will dramatically improve your ability to heal.

If you have suffered from abuse as a child and you have talked it through in
therapy but these events are still affecting you,
you can expect the BodyTalk
session to deal with them at the level of the cells (eliminating neuro peptides) in a very
gentle way. You will not have to share or talk about the memories, you will just have to
think about them for a few minutes while the  balancing treatment dissolves the charge
around them and allow an immediate and permanent relief within the depth of your body
and mind. Within minutes, You will feel that a weight has been literally lifted off your body
and mind.

If you are not good about opening up with your therapist—or in life in general--
you
can expect to relax and let the practitioner find out what needs to be
treated. I
will ask your body what needs to be treated in priority for optimum healing.
Once I have has found out what needs to be addressed, I will bring it up to your
attention; you may want or not to discuss for a few minutes the issue and its relevance
in your life. You will often be surprised by the accuracy of the information and the way it
resonates as true deeply within you. Then you will follow simple instructions (usually
holding your hands over a certain organ or endocrine) and we will begin the process of
releasing or balancing the issue.

It is so easy, gently, and effective,” says Jean, I don’t open up easily with my
therapist but with BodyTalk I can just relax and find out from deep inside what is
bothering me.
It is much easier than trying to talk about things I cannot talk
about.”

If you have so many issues that you don’t know which one to tackle first, you
can expect to relax and let the body lead us to the perfect sequence of
healing.
Often issues are interconnected and it is impossible to “guess’ which one to
tackle first. With BodyTalk we tackle them simultaneously in a holistic and
multidimensional approach.


Aside from individual consultation I also offer group sessions:

At the Joy Yoga Center (Houston/Heights) I offer monthly  Borrowing Benefits
Sessions.
Gary Craig, the founder of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), has
developed the Borrowing Benefit sessions. Gary discovered that we could help an entire
group by using EFT. Everyone follows along with the tapping on acupressure points while
tackling their own unique issue. For example, if the group is working on stress, each
participant thinks about a specific stressful event and then the entire group follows the
same instructions (tapping on a sequence of point and saying the same affirmation) Gary
has noticed that more than 95% of the participants actually benefit greatly from the
group work.
It is an ideal way to help numerous people at the same time.


When you join you will be introduced to EFT and other energy therapies that
are ideal self-help techniques.
The Borrowing Benefit sessions are on stress,
success and abundance, and emotional eating.
